What is AKCCOP?

 

AKCCOP is the Association of Kansas Community College Office Professionals. This group consists of hard working people from two-year colleges throughout the state, and can trace its history back four decades. It's not a union or a trade organization, but rather a group of people who share a mutual dedication to

"The purpose of this organization shall be to promote the standards of the
office professionals within the community colleges of Kansas, and to provide
a finer understanding of the relationship between our colleges and communities,
so that we may better serve our institutions."

 

Delegate Selection

 

AKCCOP members look forward each year to what they consider the major highlight of their membership - the annual spring conference workshops. These workshops are conducted on a different Kansas campus each year, giving everyone a chance to see the operations, facilities and atmosphere under which fellow members work. By attending spring AKCCOP conferences, delegates earn continuing education units.  

Here on the Barton compus a conference delegate application may be obtained from the Office of Human Resources, or by clicking here.  Applicants must be B-OP members in good standing with a minimum of six months continuous employment.  In consultation with employee supervisors, the Office of Human Resources will have the final review of all applications and select attendees based on the following:

1st Priority  - AKCCOP Officers, as their attendance is required
2nd Priority - Office Professionals receiving no outside training in the previous fiscal year
3rd Priority  - Office Professionals not attending AKCCOP the previous fiscal year
4th Priority  - Seniority, should the number of applicants exceed the budget

Grant Application

 

Through the generosity of Barton Community College, each member of BartonOP is also a member of the Association of Kansas Community College Office Professionals and has the opportunity to apply for AKCCOP continuing education grants.  Click here to learn about AKCCOP grant guidelines.
