Get Ahead Program (GAP)

Are you a high school student looking for the ultimate first college experience?  If so then the Get Ahead Program (GAP) may be your solution.

GAP courses are offered on the Barton County Campus in the afternoon.  The Get Ahead Program offers general education classes as well as classes in specific vocational and/or career pathways.  Most classes meet either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday, from 1:30-3:00 pm.  High school students who elect this college experience will find themselves in classes with traditional and non-traditional college students.  Courses are taught by members of the Barton's full-time faculty.

Steps to enroll in a GAP class are as follows:

  1. Determine the course(s) you are interested in taking.
  2. Consult with your high school counselor to determine if GAP classes will work with your high school schedule.
  3. Complete the enrollment form found in this publication.
  4. Request your principal's signature on the enrollment form.
  5. Determine your method of payment.
    • $252 per course - Barton County Resident
$261 per course - Non Barton County Resident
  6. Deliver or mail your enrollment form to Barton's Enrollment Services Department as soon as possible.  GAP classes have enrollment limits - enrollment is not guaranteed!
Special Note:  Students may also enroll online by going to www.bartonccc.edu and click " online student services".
  7. Purchase textbooks for the course(s) BEFORE the class starts.
