Tri-State HEP

Migrant Farm Education Program

 

Provides qualified farm workers educational opportunities and assistance in classes offered at the Center for Adult Education (CAE). As part of the Tri-State high school equivalency project (HEP), the CAE will assist an individual unable to graduate from high school because of family moves.

To be eligible for HEP, one must be:

  • 17 years of age or older not attending high school
  • Lacking a high school diploma, and
  • A migrant and seasonal farmworker or child of a migrant farmworker

HEP Students

Eligible students receive:

  • Free instruction and tutoring (available in English and Spanish)
  • Free books and materials
  • Opportunities to participate in cultural events
  • Career / job exploration and placement
  • Medical screenings
  • Availability to utilize and complete the GED testing in Spanish
  • Upon completion of the HEP program, the student will receive $250 stipend to apply toward personal expensis.
