Military technology is an ever-expanding art that involves complex systems, hardware and technologies that possess ever increasing civilian applications. Dependent upon critical thought processes and the ability to utilize these evolving technologies, today’s military personnel are engaged in mission planning, risks assessment, identifying potential hazards, supervising preparations, identifying and maintaining assets, training personnel, and conducting and supervising additional duties. This certificate program encompasses and addresses these required skills.

The certificate program consist of 3 individual tracks or separate certificates; Leadership, Logistics, Dangerous Materials Handling and Response. Each certificate requires the successful completion of 30 credit hours. Students may seek an individual certificate track or complete all three.

All courses within each certificate track are commonly offered through formal military training and installation schools throughout the Department of Defense. Transfer credit may be awarded for previous attendance and successful completion of approved courses through those programs. Upon verification of documentation and acceptance by Barton Community College, students may transfer in up to 24 credit hours toward certificate completion. To meet residency requirements a total of 6 credit hours must be completed with Barton Community College from the list of courses in the Military Technology Certificate curriculum guide.
